First off – it’s ok to say no. In fact, it’s MORE than ok to say no. So many businesses struggle because they are stretched out too thin by marketing to everyone. Offering too many products or services forces you to compete as a commodity and forces you to lower your prices to gain business. When a customer asks if you offer a service or product, it’s ok to say no if that is the truth. And just because a competitor offers something, doesn’t mean you have to as well.

 

You can’t do everything.

When you become everything to everyone, your brand becomes diluted. You can easily lose sight of what your company stands for—which will confuse your customers as well.

 

Find your niche.

Focus on a smaller scale. Then, you can put all your marketing efforts towards giving your customers the best brand experience. Besides, it is much easier to run a business when the public knows who you are and what you sell. It’s much easier for you to tell them what exactly you do when you don’t offer everything under the sun!

 

Stay focused and stay true to what you love to do. Your passion for your work will shine through and attract loyal customers.
