KP Vinyl Siding’s History
KP Vinyl Siding used to be known as KP Building Products. It was established in the 1960’s and was positioned in the marketplace as a commodity. This means they were only focusing on the product, price, and service they offered.
The Challenge
KP was losing market share to competitors. Their competitors were actively branding by positioning their siding business as a lifestyle brand. They were focusing on the people and not just on the product. So KP knew they would have to look into this idea to be competitive in their market.
The Solution
Diving into our Define Before Design® with our Brand Strategist, Shanna Dennis, truly was the first step. It helped the team at KP to discover what set them apart, what made them special in their industry. Once we knew more about the company, the products, and the goals of KP Building Products, our team went to work. Though they did sell building products, customers know KP best for their vinyl siding. After that, we were able to zero in on that aspect of their business. It allowed the creative juices to start flowing.
We discovered that at the core, their company was most passionate about transformation. Our new brand celebrates that KP’s large range of siding colour and design options gives the homeowner creative control.
